Session Description

Where does sustainable change happen? As Change Management practitioners, we can all recognize the role that consistent, intentional behaviors play in sustainable change. The prevailing methods help our clients to identify and diagnose business challenges with effective Change Management tactics. Then they call upon us to leverage the tactics combined with experience to remediate problems and deliver solutions. We often wonder… ‘what happens before we leave?’

I find myself thinking, ‘what was happening before I arrived?’ What if we could meet change challenges proactively, upstream before they happened onto the radar? What if we could build a platform more ready for taking on challenges?  What if the future of Change Management is not better reaction to change, but rather better anticipation of change?

We like to call the step before the Change Management models and methods Step Zero, and it refers to healthy behaviors that improve the conditions for facing change BEFORE you have to do change. We believe that Healthy Leaders change the game, and in our presentation, we want to introduce some concepts and philosophies that we believe increase our clients’ chances of success, save them money, and ultimately make us more effective change agents.

Leveraging his own experiences in 20+ years of Change Management practice, Chris Smith, founding Principal of ChangeSmith, will examine common trends of the leader’s role in practical change efforts and share Organizational Health strategies for how leaders can gain advantages through the influencing opportunities offered by day-to-day healthy organizational leadership.
