Kick-off the New Year with the Federal CM CoP and the DATa CM CoP for a special joint post-holiday event featuring Tod Dabolt, Chief Data Officer at the Department of Interior (DOI).  For the first half of the meeting, learn first-hand how data is being used by the Federal government to help bring about change and how DOI is using new data analytics products and artificial intelligence for decision making.  Following the conversation with our guest speaker, we will break out into virtual groups to reflect on how changes from 2020 can be leveraged to improve our lives in 2021. The meeting will end with a report back from the break out groups.

About the Speaker: Tod Dabolt

Tod Dabolt has served 23 years in the federal government. In July 2016, Mr. Dabolt joined DOI as the Geospatial Information Officer (GIO). Secretary Bernhardt has since named Tod as the Department’s Chief Data Officer (CDO) in August 2019. As CDO he’s helping the Department transparently answer tomorrow’s questions today while opening up DOI’s data to the next generation. Tod started his career working for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) initially bringing geospatial expertise to the Nation’s water quality monitoring and assessment program and later the entire EPA water program.  In these roles he partnered with state and federal agencies enhancing information based public policy decision making.
