With folks celebrating the holidays and perhaps taking a break from business and change management oriented reading, we’re going to ease back into things with a different twist on our book club. Instead of a book, at the January edition of the Change Maker’s Book Club we’ll discuss an article on one of the most popular topics in the club, according to our recent membership poll – culture and change.

The article, The Leader’s Guide to Corporate Culture:  How to Manage the Eight Critical Elements of Organizational Life, by Boris Groysberg, Jeremiah Lee, Jesse Price and J. Yo-Jud Cheng fom the January-February 2018 Harvard Business Review looks at how companies define culture, the pros and cons of different culture styles and has some ways to profile your own company’s culture, as well as some suggestions on how to shape it.

Follow the link above for the article – note that you’ll have to use one of your monthly allotment of free HBR articles (if you sign up you can get six), use your HBR subscription if you have one, or purchase a PDF of the article for $8.95.

As an added bonus…we can broaden the discussion. If you have a favorite article on culture and change, bring it to the meeting and lead us through why you like it and what the main lessons are – this way we can all learn from each other!

Your Facilitator:  Matt Gaston is a Principal Consultant at Navigator Management Partners and serves as a leader in their organizational change management practice. Matt has 30 years’ experience in change management and strategic communications in the government, nonprofit, higher education and commercial sectors and currently serves on the ACMP DC board as Director of Programming, Events and Training. He holds a CCMP Certification and is a Prosci Certified Advanced Instructor.

Registration for ACMP DC members is $10, for Non-members and friends is $15.
